Fiber is mostly polysaccharides composed of glucose units, but human digestive enzymes cannot break the bonding of these units. We can think of fiber as non-starch polysaccharides. These include cellulose, hemicellulose, pectin, and some other types of fiber. The Rewards of Reading

reading.jpgWhat have you been reading lately? As a writer, this is a very important question. You need to be feeding your mind lots of good stuff to prime that creative pump. Another question you should think about is are you a wide reader?

In a gathering, you can tell who the wide readers are. Wide readers think and speak well. They win the admiration, respect, and good opinion of others. I’ve heard many writers give talks, and being a wide reader has been at the top their list of priorities.

Reading expands the mind. In fact, many people consider it as one of the satisfying pleasures of humans, for it involves physical as well as mental activities.

Faith and Action Work Hand in Hand

floodrescue.jpgFor my birthday, my mother gave me a copy of The Secret. Until I started reading it, I was skeptical. Not because I don’t believe in the law of attraction, for I certainly do, but because so much of the hype around the book and movie made it seem like it focused only on thought, and gave no credence to action.

You see, I’m a firm believer in the teaching that you need to take action in order to get what you want life. And, I know of sayings from at least two religions that say the same thing: “Trust in Allah, but tie up your camel” and “God helps those who help themselves.”

Well, now I’m reading The Secret and I realize that the hype was wrong. Yes, the book does talk a lot about thought, for what you think about expands. But thought is just the first step. Once you hold that thought in your mind long enough, opportunities will present themselves. If you don’t act on them, all the thinking in the world isn’t going to make what you want manifest itself.
