Subliminal messages are those that are embedded inside another media and not consciously recognized. Such subliminals are said to be able to affect your behavior or actions. It is said that they can induce you to do something, even if you don’t know you are being influenced by the message.
Modern Subliminals
Self-help subliminals are quite popular and can be distributed much more easily through audio or video. You can find them easily and order subliminal self-help products through the Internet. The question, however, is does they really work?
Some people swear by subliminals and say they really do work. Others say that it’s simply your imagination. Most likely, both sides are true, meaning subliminals work for some and not for others. So, before purchasing a product like this, it is important for you to know both sides.
In Favor
There are a lot of studies claiming that subliminal messaging is highly effective. There was one incidence in a movie house that a subliminal message was flashed on the screen telling the audience to drink Coke and eat popcorn. The results were astounding — sales of Coke and popcorn that night went sky high.
Against
Of course, it is possible that by purchasing a particular message you create a self-fulfilling prophesy. You already know what message is on the subliminal product. Therefore psychological conditioning created the results — not the subliminal message.
For example, you buy a subliminal product to help you stop smoking. Because you are convinced that what you bought is effective, your craving for smoking is lessened. You tell your self that you’re under the spell of a subliminal message and that you don’t want to smoke.
In the end, the decision is still yours on whether you opt to use subliminal messaging or not. Just remember that there’s no greater motivator than believing in you.
