The more you write, the larger your impact. If that’s true, why is it that so many authors find it hard to either start writing or to complete articles that they started?

You either buy into the perception of writer’s block or you buy into the perception that it’s easy for you to enter and exit an effortless state of flow (some call it the alpha mind state) or the zone when writing. It’s always a choice and therefore you either set yourself up for failure or for runaway success.

Here are 7 strategies that can help you achieve the zone of flow when it comes to writing your best works:

A Time of Thankfulness

thanksgivingfeast.jpgYesterday people across the U.S. celebrated Thanksgiving. This national holiday has it origins in the earliest days of the founding of this nation. Back then, the Pilgrims faced harsh weather, unpredictable relations with the natives, disease and other challenges as they carved out homes from the wilderness.

Lucky for them, local Native Americans were friendly and helped them build structures that could keep them safe in the winter, and taught them how to fish and how to farm. This act of friendship was the origin of Thanksgiving.

At this time of the year, it is appropriate to think about all the things you are thankful for. Appreciate those blessings in your life. If you are a follower of The Law of Attraction, you will realize that this exercise will only bring you more blessings.

So, I suggest that you take some time for yourself during this hectic time of year and renew your spirit with thankfulness.

Fun Ways to Get Your Child Interested in Religion

child.jpgFor many, religion plays an important part of their life. If you are a parent who feels this way, then having your child share in your religious philosophy and activities may also be important. Yet, attending religious services is often not high on kids’ list of fun things to do.

Never fear. There are steps that you can take to help your child develop a new love for their religion, as well as a devotion to it.

Youth Programs
Does your church, synagogue, mosque or other place of prayer have programs for young children? This is typically best if you have children who are toddlers or of elementary school age. With that in mind, there may also be programs designed for teenagers, as well. Depending on your religious institution, these programs may include fun religious classes, where educational materials are used, as well as using teenage volunteers to assist with the programs.

The Relaxed Martial Art

aikido.jpgTraditionally, martial art systems were created as a documented practice of training for combat. Naturally, its modern day applications are primarily for self-defense, exercise and physical fitness. One form of martial arts, however, stands out from the rest in the sense that it espouses a relaxed way of life over cunning and physical strength.

At the heart of it, the Aikido spirit is about cultivating relaxation and a serenity throughout everyday life. In this way, you will be able to harness this virtue in actual physical combat.

Aikido is actually a modern Japanese martial art and the Aikido spirit continues to live on today years after it was developed by Morihei Eushiba between 1920 to 1960. This martial art is cultivates the Aikido spirit, resulting in spiritual and philosophical development, which in turn becomes the basis of the combative art. Modern day students of Aikido testify that they bring the Aikido spirit with them throughout ordinary daily life, forming a bridge between everyday life and combat on the training mat.

Faith and Action Work Hand in Hand

floodrescue.jpgFor my birthday, my mother gave me a copy of The Secret. Until I started reading it, I was skeptical. Not because I don’t believe in the law of attraction, for I certainly do, but because so much of the hype around the book and movie made it seem like it focused only on thought, and gave no credence to action.

You see, I’m a firm believer in the teaching that you need to take action in order to get what you want life. And, I know of sayings from at least two religions that say the same thing: “Trust in Allah, but tie up your camel” and “God helps those who help themselves.”

Well, now I’m reading The Secret and I realize that the hype was wrong. Yes, the book does talk a lot about thought, for what you think about expands. But thought is just the first step. Once you hold that thought in your mind long enough, opportunities will present themselves. If you don’t act on them, all the thinking in the world isn’t going to make what you want manifest itself.
