smileyangel.jpgOne challenge I’ve had in organizing The Holistic Writer is breaking topics up and putting them in the appropriate area: Mind, Body or Sprit. Many of these topics overlap greatly. For example, today’s topic.

Being happy is a way to feed the soul, but many of the tips for increasing your sense of happiness and making your life more fulfilling listed below will also benefit your mind and body.

Social Networks

Social networks or relationships are essential to happiness. People are different. Accept people for who or what they are, keep away from clashes, constant arguments, and let go of all kinds of resentments. If arguments seem inevitable still try and make an effort to understand the situation and you might just get along with well with the person, anyway.

An Attitude of Gratitude

Being thankful is a great attitude. We have so much to be thankful for. Taking time to thank those who provide even the smallest thing will help you realize how abundant your life is. I’ve found life much more easy to handle now that I list the things I have to be thankful for during the day, each night before I go to sleep.

Reject Daily Negativity

Most news is stressful. Get less of it. Fill up on good news. A couple of resources include Gimundo and Good News Network, both of which offer e-newsletters filled with good news.

Spiritual Networking

Being part of a spiritual group with its singing, sacraments, chanting, prayers and meditations encourages inner peace.

Time Management

Sounds boring, but managing your time well not only reduces stress, but allows for plenty of spirit feeding time. Time is invaluable and too important to waste.

I Love to Laugh! Ha! Ha! Ha!

Laugh and laugh vigorously every day. Heard a good joke? Chuckle. Tell your friends or family about it. Laugh. As the saying goes, “Laughter is the best medicine”!

Tell ‘Em How You Feel

Don’t keep good feelings pent up inside! Let them out! Communicate your feelings, affections, friendship and passion to the people around you. It’s contagious.

Tell ‘Em How You Really Feel

Don’t keep pent up anger of frustrations, either. This is bad for your health and bad for your soul. Instead, find ways of expressing negative emotions in a way that will not cause more injury or hurt to others.

A Job Well Done

Working hard and well brings great personal contentment. It gives you a sense of accomplishment. Work on things that you feel are a valuable use of your time.

Learn Something New Every Day

Learning is a joyful exercise. Try and learn something new each day. Learning also makes us increase our horizons. If you visit The Holistic Writer on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, you’ll have at least three days down!

Work It Off

Run, jog, walk and do other things that your body was made for. Feel alive.

Embrace a Healthy Environment

Avoid exposure to negative elements like loud noises, toxins and hazardous places. Reduce the amount of chemicals you ingest with your food. Buy natural, “green,” biodegradable household products.
